With more than 14 years of experience in environmental science, investigations and risk assessment, I combine technical expertise with a genuine understanding of how water-damaged buildings can impact the people who live within them.
Home Biotica was created to provide independent, science-based mould and moisture inspections that help homeowners, tenants, schools and workplaces better understand their indoor environments and make informed decisions about their health and buildings.

About Me..
An Environmental Investigator Turned Healthy Home Specialist
For more than a decade, I worked in environmental regulation, compliance and risk management across government and private industry, including as a Senior Environmental Adviser with the South Australian Environment Protection Authority (EPA).
Throughout my career I investigated complex environmental issues affecting communities, businesses and households. Whether assessing pollution incidents, conducting environmental investigations, collecting scientific evidence or providing specialist advice, my role was always the same: identify the source of a problem, understand the risks and develop practical solutions.
Today, I apply that same investigative approach to buildings.
Moisture and mould problems are rarely random. They are typically linked to identifiable moisture sources, building defects, ventilation issues or hidden water damage. My role is to systematically investigate those factors, assess the evidence and provide clear recommendations that help clients understand what is happening within their home and what actions may be required.
Why I created Home Biotica
My interest in healthy homes became deeply personal when my own family began experiencing unexplained health concerns.
Like many people searching for answers, I found myself navigating a complex world of mould exposure, water-damaged buildings and chronic symptoms. During this journey I learned that I carry an HLA genetic susceptibility associated with reduced ability to clear certain biotoxins and became familiar with the research surrounding Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) and water-damaged buildings.
As we investigated our own home, hidden moisture issues and mould contamination were identified in several areas of the property.
The experience was both confronting and enlightening.
Despite my environmental background, I quickly discovered how difficult it could be to find independent, evidence-based information that connected building conditions with indoor environmental quality.
I realised many families were facing the same challenges.
Home Biotica was created to bridge that gap by providing thorough, independent investigations that help people understand their buildings, identify moisture-related risks and make informed decisions about remediation and maintenance.

At Home Biotica, every inspection is approached with the understanding that no two buildings are the same.
Rather than focusing solely on sampling, I investigate the building as a whole system—assessing moisture sources, building performance, ventilation, occupant observations and environmental conditions to develop a comprehensive understanding of what may be contributing to a problem.
My recommendations are based on current industry guidance, building science principles and practical risk management approaches.
The goal is not simply to identify mould, but to understand why it is present and how the underlying issues can be addressed.
